Adopt A Fire Hydrant

An “adopted” hydrant. Note the brass plaque.

Yes, you can have your own historic, Canadian fire hydrant. You just can’t take it home! But we’ll put your name, the name of a firefighter you adore, or the name of a cherished pet on a brass plaque that will be affixed to your hydrant now and forever, it will be part of the Museum’s collection. Seriously, your adoption fee will cover the cost of sand blasting, repainting in original colours, and polishing the brass bits. Sound good? You can even come in and choose the hydrant you want! When it’s done, we’ll send you a photo. You can visit your adopted hydrant any time we’re open! Only $250. Just send us the completed Adoption Form below.

Your contribution of $250 will pay for the restoration of a vintage fire hydrant including media blasting and repainting. We will add a brass plaque with your name or the name of your pet and send you a photo.
